Patch 5.1: Vanity Items and Undocumented Changes

  Patch 5.1 has some big content additions to be sure--new factions, tons of battle pets, the Brawler's Guild--but there's many new vanity items hidden around Pandaria. Check out the items, transmogrification additions, and disguises we found, including  Sun-Lute of the Phoenix King which was datamined in Cataclysm but only found its way now to the BMAH.
  
  We also have a few undocumented changes based on a threadWowhead users had compiled. Of particular note:  Seeds of Fear requires less  Dread Amber Shardsand Wild Onyx Serpent drops  Serpent's Cache which contains profession materials.

  Items

   Stackable Stag: 1,000, Sally Fizzlefury

  • People really missed how Druids with  Glyph of the Stag could stack on top of each other in 5.0.4, so there's now an item that replicates the tower of stags!
  • Each summoned stag lasts for two minutes, so you can start up a tower with two  Stackable Stag in your inventory, and have friends help out.
  • If you summon a stag too soon after one has despawned, the stack will glitch and the new stag won't jump up.

  New items recently surfaced on the BMAH:

  •  Sun-Lute of the Phoenix King is the weapon used by Sig Nicious of L90ETC.
  •  Reins of the Plagued Proto-Drake was formerly a reward for  Glory of the Raider (10 player), and was removed from the game when Tier 8 hit.

  The Darkmoon Faire has some new vanity pets that we covered in our 5.1 Battle Pet Guide, but that's not all.

  •  Darkmoon Whistle costs 90. It startles everyone in a 30 yard range and fortunately can only be used every 30 minutes.
  • Gelvas Grimegate now sells more Sandbox rides:  Darkmoon "Cougar",  Darkmoon "Dragon", Darkmoon "Gryphon",  Darkmoon "Murloc",  Darkmoon "Nightsaber",  Darkmoon "Rocket", Darkmoon "Snow Leopard",  Darkmoon "Wyvern"

   

  Disguises

   Magic Bamboo Shoot: Panda Disguise

  • Wow Insider discovered that by emoting Meng Meng or Luo Luo with with /love or /hug near your faction's portal to Pandaria, you'll get  Magic Bamboo Shoot.
  • However, you can attack in panda form and /sleep works.

  Blingtron 4000 disguises:  Dressed to Kill

  • We covered this new buff last week, but have since been able to confirm all the disguise options.
  • There are two possible human disguises for Dressed to Kill, which you get when telling Blingtron you want to party:

    •  Stylin' Jungle Hat, white top, black pants, grey boots.
    •  Stylin' Adventure Hat, black top, white pants, black boots.
  • These buffs last for 60 minutes but do not persist through death.
  • You can go back and get the buff from Blingtron even if you've done your daily quest.

  Burning Treant:  Glyph of the Treant +  Cozy Fire

  • WoW Insider reported that Resto druids with  Glyph of the Treant now catch on fire if they stand in a  Cozy Fire.

   Obelisk of Deception/ Obelisk of Deception

  • These items cost 500 faction commendations.
  • Placing the obelisk allows nearby players to change their appearance and resemble the other faction.

   

  Transmogrification

   Bipsi's Gloves:

  • This crafted item matches an Hour of Twilighttransmog set.
  • The existing gloves,  Archivist's Gloves, were a quest reward, and many casters opted for Crescent Wand instead which meant they couldn't finish the complete set's look previously.

  Guild cloaks are now transmoggable:

  • From  A Class Act:

    •  Shroud of Cooperation: long cape with knee-length center panel and gold bands on sides.
    •  Shroud of Cooperation: long cape with knee-length center panel and rough stitching on sides.
  • From  Guild Level 15:

    •  Wrap of Unity: Rook border with faint Alliance lion imprint on center of train.
    •  Wrap of Unity: Thick pointed and curved bands, two faint Horde logos at bottom.
  • From  Master Crafter:

    •  Cloak of Coordination: Elaborate gold stripes and diagonal lines.
    •  Cloak of Coordination: Thick jagged lines.

       
  
  In addition, all transmogrification sets and "Same Model As" tabs have been updated for Patch 5.1 items.

  Undocumented Changes

  

  •  Jin'ya, Orb of the Waterspeaker and  Spiritseverreceived new models to look more "Sha-Touched."
  •  Spirit of Harmony now converts to 2  Golden Lotus, down from 3.
  • You only need 5  Dread Amber Shards for Seeds of Fear, down from 20.
  • Fairlands Gazelle is no longer skinnable.
  • You initially keep your momentum when dismounting from flying creatures. Beware falling off cliffs.
  • The ravens from  Glyph of Shadow Ravens last longer.
  • Mountain Skunk was removed from  To All the Squirrels I Once Caressed?.
  • Wild Onyx Serpent in central Kun-Lai Summit now drops  Serpent's Cache. This contains a variety of MoP profession materials.
  • The Halfhill flightpath master Wing Nga, is now by the inn instead of the cooking trainers.
